Hi Rusk, you need to get the codes read to understand what is actually happening. It could potentially be one or more of the issues from your original post. Throwing money at parts you don’t even know are faulty will just annoy you even more.

If you post staying your whereabouts someone on the forum maybe able to help. Or take it to a local independent specialist to confirm.

My garage said the fault code was compressor - I’m just thinking ahead about what the height sensors will cost and either bring ready to go that way if needed OR getting both done whilst they have it in.

Any ideas on labour time for sensors?

I had my driver's side rear done from a local garage and charged me 1 hour labor. They said it took them 30mins to change but had to charge me for 1 hour .
If that helps

I've got a shiny new compressor ready to fit now, but still struggling with the ride height sensors...

This set that I had thought was a perfect fit, are apparently not... according to the seller the rear ones would fit but not the fronts - unfortunately the fronts are the ones I suspect are in need of replacement!

Can anyone clarify the right height ride sensors for the front?

What are the number of the one's you have, and are they 3 pin connector or 6 pin? although the should interchange.

Have a look on advanced motor factors.

AAAAAAAAAAARGH...

I bought this compressor but the mechanic told me today that it’s the wrong part:

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=ht...3000696951

I matched the part numbers off the one that was fitted... can anyone help me work out why it doesn’t fit and what compressor I actually need?! Apparently my garage looked up the correct part from Land Rover and it’s £600 plus VAT, and cones as a kit with lots of other bits to change at the same time.

HELP!

You need to check your VIN number and look on Advanced Factors web site..

That's awesome, thank you... (and it was posted above buy I managed not to see it..! Rolling Eyes )

My VIN is SALLSAA238A136566

I see the compressors, but I'm not sure how to work out which matches my VIN - it might be an issue my end (more than likely the issue is simply ME) but I can't seem to search and all I can see are two compressors that don't appear to match my VIN..

Is the "all replaced as a full kit" idea just random nonsense then?

I would suggest that you have the Hitachi compressor and not the AMK.

i do recall someone installing the AMK in its place, you will need to search the forum to find the post, if correct i think they listed the required parts. However check with your mechanic to confirm that you do indeed have the Hitachi it may be cheaper to install the exact replacement as the labour involved will be greater if not doing it yourself.

Advanced factors sell a Dunlop replacement compressor for £324 on which we get a forum discount and they can advise if any additional parts are required or recommended whilst the work is being undertaken.

I think you need to establish if you have a Hitachi or AMK compressor fitted first, on your Vin No. it should be a Hitachi unless it has already been changed previously, it is easy enough to tell the difference with the plastic cover removed as they mount totally different to the chassis, which is why the AMK kit is expensive as you need the new mounting bracket, new type relay for the fuse box, a software upgrade and even the plastic cover. If you already have a AMK fitted you don't need the full kit, just the compressor unit. L/R themselves no longer supply the Hitachi one. If you post a picture of the one currently fitted it is simple enough to tell you if it is AMK or Hitachi as said previously.

Hitachi

AMK

That is a totally obsolete part number so there is a very strong possibility it is the original Hitachi, the part number will eventually supersede to the AMK one I suspect, because as I said L/R themselves do not supply the Hitachi anymore. However you could try LR015303 or LR023964. Google the numbers and see what turns up Island 4x4 always used to be very good.

I matched those numbers to the part I bought... I thought I'd got it nailed!

I think LR015303 may have superceded to LR023964 anyway.
