United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Santorini Black
service schedule & advice on buying SDV6

I'm interested in going to look at a 2013 SDV6 (old shape reg on 1st March 2013) I'm yet to receive pictures of the service book the dealer (Non main dealer) is telling me that the car has full main dealer service at 14,687 / 28057 / 45218 miles I haven't yet got the dates of the services but would these be about right for the car?

Further investigation:

Reg No. OE13 PWN

On checking the MOT history these were the last advisories. Intresting it failed this MOT 6th September 2018 and didn't re-test until 10th Dec 2018 having covered 59 miles

Nearside Front Tyre worn close to legal limit/worn on edge (5.2.3 (e))
Offside Front Tyre worn close to legal limit/worn on edge (5.2.3 (e))
Nearside Front Suspension arm pin or bush worn but not resulting in excessive movement rear (5.3.4 (a) (i))
Offside Front Suspension arm pin or bush worn but not resulting in excessive movement rear (5.3.4 (a) (i))
Nearside Rear Tyre worn close to legal limit/worn on edge (5.2.3 (e))
Offside Rear Tyre worn close to legal limit/worn on edge (5.2.3 (e))
Rear n/s & o/s Tyres wearing on inner shoulder

On checking with the dealer he confirmed it has 4 different makes of Tyre! Is it legal to have different treads on the same axle? Cheers Laurence.

As long as the tread depth is not less than 1.6mm in the central 3/4 of it's width throughout the entire circumpherence, yes it is legal. Iv'e not seen a cross-ply or bias belted tyre for decades so assume they are all radials.
That being said, the general recommendation is at least the same across each axle. You don't really want to be mixing tyre types (e.g All terrain, and road biased tyres). Iv'e not experienced it myself, but understand that if there is a vast difference is tread depth per axle, you may confuse the vehicle traction computer and get all sorts of error messages.
It may also indicate lack of care in the ownership of the car, so what else has been skimped on?
Wear on edges of tyres together with the advisories would suggest it needs at least an 4 wheel alignment, if not wishbone replacement, which is not cheap.

The car should have a service book with 5 stamps, the last in March this year. The service interval is every 15,000 or each year, on the registration anniversary, whichever comes first. If it only has 3 stamps then it does not have a full service history.

As for the tyres it is not advisable to have different brands on the same axle, but not illegal. From the advisories it needs a four wheel alignment. Also the reg indicates it was Landrover Company car at the beginning of its life.

From what you describe it doesn’t look like it’s been loved.

Four different tires on a 2013 Range Rover Sport says also something about the care this car was given. Any serious JLR dealership or Indy would disapprove this. It might not be illegal, but it is bad for the road worthyness and can even lead to mechanical stress.
IMO you should ditch it RRS 3.0 SDV6 HSE Lux

As Hog said above, I’m getting the vibe of lack of maintenance and general care. If it’s worth anything I’d look for another, there’s plenty out there....

I got that impression to be honest which is a shame as it has so extras in it, the right colour combo and it was ticking all the boxes until I had the chat with him!

It's not necessarily the end of the world but be VERY careful. Needs a bullet proof warranty (don't know how good the RAC ones are) and certainly worth checking what else is available before parting with any cash on this one. Robin

I told the RAC that their warranty wasn't worth the Paper it was written on the other day.

My maps have gone after running a Land Rover update USB. So I contacted the RAC and they won't pay dealer labour rate (even though I haven't found an indie that can do it) and they won't pay diagnostic fees and even though the claims limit is £1000 they will only pay £500 for ICE (I can't imagine a big repair to the ICE will be any less than £500) 2016 Black SDV8 Autobiography

Lovely spec & RRS you have there Jim..👍
I liked the black headline the other one I was looking at had, heated steering wheel wheel & white contrast stitching! I did ask the dealer re the RAC warranty he told me it covered absolutely everything which after talking to you I knew wasn’t true! I asked him lots of searching questions re the car which he wasn’t over happy with I could tell he just wanted to get off the phone.. Laughing He listed it with every extra possible so I asked re the sunroof, surround cameras etc.. etc and all the answers came back as ‘No it hasn’t got that!’ Only three stamps in the book when I asked at what the mileage was serviced at proved it didn’t have full service as advertised! He’s avoiding my calls now... Rolling with laughter
Anyway have you tried Bodsy on here? He deals with software on the RRS! Not sure if he can help but he might know something about what your problem is? Cheers Laurence.
