Gummi Pflege

I have been in the past extoling the virtues of Gummi Pflege how it keeps your door seals supple & stops the doors freezing shut in winter. Went out this morning & because of a hard frost last night, could not get in the car. Big Cry All doors frozen solid.
At that point I realised as the car isn't used much and is usually garaged it was probably about 9 months ago I put Gummi on the seals Sad What an Censored . So after pouring some warm water around the doors, I was able to get in. Came back home, dried around the seal & re-applied Gummi. Moral of this is if you have not applied it lately get it on soon or Embarassed

Not a problem when you have a car that self heats when plugged into the mains so the Countryman was toasty warm with no ice on the windows or mirrors despite the body having ice all over it........... I had to move my Defender this morning though and it was well frozen but the doors were not frozen to the seals, it was the driver’s door lock that was a block of ice so couldn’t get the key into the keyhole.......... then it wouldn’t turn until I sprayed a small amount of screen de-icer into it. No mod con like remote locking or heating on my 90! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I`ve used this in the past on others cars and it works ok but recently I was told to use a silicone spray instead. Not tried it cos not interested in the car but might be worth a try for someone Thumbs Up Steve.

the mirror motors must not be that powerfull either the drivers side moved ok but passenger side stayed folded in Crying or Very sad

may have to think about turning the fold in option off and the winter park for the wipers Yawn

Its getting to the frosty time of year, so for those who have not seen this post before, Gummi Pfledge on all your door seals prevents the doors icing up & you muttering Censored

DrRob,just remove the top & tip bottle upside down, the top part is foam so you just go round the rubbers with it. Andy.
