I'm sure its more of a case of "if we make the TDV6 too good no one will buy the TDV8 or the petrol engines".

The dealer did a serial programme upgrade for me which did make a big difference. £700.

So, the Dealers really DO provide remaps then? Does that mean LR condone and approve the general practice, and, if they recognise the legitimate need for an upgrade, why isn't it fitted standard LRT (extra dosh?)? Confused

Dealer tuning is on the sly really, and not LR approved. Like this site? Buy some RRSPORT goodies to show your support!

Martin,

I'm sure LR must be aware of what is happening in their dealerships? I suspect they choose to 'turn a blind eye' to keep customers happy Smile Chips with everything

The dealer I am told has been licensed to do this, invoice included the exact details of the upgrade so I am sure that Land Rover are aware of this.

I don't know exact figures. Approx 325bhp and 610 ft lbs.

The latter is what makes her so good.

I posted the "Before and after times on the thread. "T.Chip goes from strength to strength"

MPG seems about the same but really to early to tell.

Thanks for all the info guys, I will be taking delivery of my RRS HSE in April and will be considering these options after a few thousand miles as previous posts suggest "running in" the engine before chipping. I can't understand why the techs @ Land Rover don't just eek the max economy/performance from their own engines for the standard car if such re-mapping is available without adversleyaffecting the engine.

If its a good idea to run the Censored in first. Why didn't T Chip tell me first???

It doesn't make any difference. Using the car for a few miles lets you know what it feels like unmapped, then the remap shows up more.

As the engine loosens up around 2 - 3k it will really perform well.
