Hello all,

I had the dreaded shake at roughly 40kmh and fluctuating revs when going uphill. I was told on here that it was most likely the torque converter, I took the car to Automatic Transmissions Ltd (autogearbox.co.uk) up in Huddersfield. The guy there test drove the car and agreed I need a torque converter so I left it with them for just over a week.

They called after a few days and said that the torque converter could not be repaired so I needed a new one.

Upon picking it up I was told that I also needed some oil cooler pipes as they were leaking, so all in I paid £1500.

Now, the fluctuating revs and the shake at 40kmh seem to have gone but I now have a different problem. The car shakes when I'm at the lights or when just started. If I put it into Neutral or park the shaking stops. It doesn't happen all the time but the vast majority and it makes no difference it seems if its cold or hot.

Could this be something else or would you point to the torque converter again?

edit: to add that I have a 57 plate TDV8 with 100k on the clock.

Sounds like you have a misfire...
