Strange feeling from the engine on start up.

Folks

Sometimes when I start the car and select either D or R the car feels like it is juddering.

I took it out of gear and put it into N and it feels like it an engine issue, as the car vibrates.

As soon as I accelerate, it goes away, and it doesn’t happen every time.

Any ideas? Previously owned 1999 Disco 2 TD5

Gone 2007 TDV8 RRS1 in Buckingham Blue.

How do know if the knocking at the front has been sorted?

You can hear the knocking at the rear better

Does it sound like the engine is running smoothly or miss fire?

Possibly an injector issue.

With the 2.7’s I believe you can see the injectors you maybe able to chart them and see if any are behaving differently....

If this happens after a cold start it may be that you have one or two failed glow plugs. Once the engine gets going, those cylinders chime in and the problem goes away, but it can only get worse until the plugs are replaced.

Otherwise try running some injector cleaner through with the fuel. It sometimes cleans them up a bit.
