Alexander’s give less than bottom book then sell at 2-4K above top book.They offered me 40k when LR were offering 44.4k.

I think it depends on who you deal with at Alexanders and what their current stock levels are like. I sold My Velar to them a little while back as they offered the best money for it.

You could try Imperials (Essex) too as they've bought a couple of LRs from me at a reasonable trade price. SOLD - 15 plate Estoril SVR

When they offered me 40k for my 36000 miles car they had one in same year but 50k plus miles for 54k.Not bad even if they took 52k that's 12k profit plus % off finance company if they finance car,,they want more profit than LR themselves

I think that's kind of my point, if they already had one similar they probably wouldn't want another to shift unless it was going to be worthwhile profit-wise. If they'd just sold the 50k-miler when offering for yours I'm pretty sure the offer would have been much improved.

I've found it's all about timing with independent dealers. If I'm looking to sell, I check their stock and more importantly check what they've just sold. If you can offer something similar to what they've just sold then they might have a bunch of people who just 'missed out' on the first car who the dealer can offer your car as a similar alternative.

Don't get me wrong, I got a fair price for my Velar and it was sold within a week for a tidy profit! On the flip side I sold an Evoque Convertible to a dealer a while back and it didn't sell on for 6 months+! SOLD - 15 plate Estoril SVR
