United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Rimini Red
Drivers side rear Suspension One inch higher than all others

Can anyone help?

The rear driver side suspension is one inch higher than all other corners, everything works as should goes up down and the same corner is always a little higher.

Could it be the height sensor? Or it maybe just needs a calibration?

If calibration is needed, can one corner be calibrated on the iid tool?

The car is a 2007 range rover sport,

Thanks

James

It's not unusual for one corner to be out, sadly. If the tyres are wearing evenly and there are no errors or issues, I wouldn't worry about it too much.

If you calibrate it, you need to do it as a whole vehicle. Just trying to change one corner won't work and might lead to errors being throw up - in extremis this can lead to a "cross articulation" error where the system gets confused and drops the vehicle on to its bump stops. This is because driving with cross articulation on the road would be a bad thing. Dropping it on its belly is intended to make you stop. Trust me, it will. BTDT.

On my previous RRS (08MY TDV8), I had one corner that was "out". I tried new sensors, new valve blocks, tried calibrating it with the IID. Nothing changed it. It resolutely stayed "out". In the end, I decided not to worry about it and just enjoyed driving it. Thumbs Up 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

My 2006 RRS was low on the NSR and was giving cross articulation faults and lowering to the bump stops + going into extended mode when selecting access height

It went into our dealer and they repaired a sensor wire and recalibrated the suspension and now the NSR is ok but I now have the same issue on the OSR, but it’s not giving fault codes it just looks an inch lower and the block on the 4x4 screen shows it to be low but mysteriously not all the time (possibly another wiring issue) - it’s booked back in to the dealers as I have given up calibrating it with the IID, I have also done the rear cross link valve seals and the compressor is less than a year old

Sometimes I look at the vehicle and it looks level and sometimes there is a definite lean Current

Oh dear thanks for the replies, I guess i shall live with it.

Although funny you should say something about the tyres wearing evenly, as the corner i am on about has 2mm less than all the others?

Tyre pressures are all as they should and the car drives great

I have recently had/have the same problem, ns is fine, os is about an inch higher. when i try and lower to access height it goes into extension mode and raises back up. Had an independant land rover mechanic diagnose it and no faults codes came up. He suggested that we could start with repakcing the height sensors but no g'tee that was the fault. Dont want to pay for new parts if its not the cause of the problem. Any ideas ? 2015 RRS SDV6 HSE Grey
