Remove SIM card from RRS

Maybe a dumb question but how do I remove the SIM card that is inserted in the reader in the arm rest (next to the USB)?

Yep, as above, only I find it easer to use a paperclip or something small like that so you can push the card down to eject it.... Thumbs Up 2010 RR 5.0 Autobiography

Be careful, don’t use anything in the SIM card slot, it’s very sensitive and will stop reading the card if you are not extremely careful. My car is at the dealer as we speak having a new SIM card reader fitted.

Unfortunately due to another software update taking longer than expected the car is in overnight.

Hmm, not so fast ikey, new sim reader didn’t fix the problem. Not a stock item in Oz, mine took 5 weeks. Seems like it’s a fault somewhere else, possibly wiring.

Time for the LR technical specialist from mother England to become involved. SC now at dealer for 2 days, 3rd day tomorrow for what should have been a simple fix. God knows what will have to be pulled apart to fix this problem or what collateral damage may ensue. My dealer is really excellent but I am not impressed with the 11 month old 5000 mile L494 V8SC quality. My car does no work, some freeway and occasional country driving, a bit of jet ski towing but that’s it as is evident by the miles.

I preferred my 2010 L320 V8 and M3 combination. Massive though the hit will be, I am considering punting the SC, getting a new last of the line M3 and an X5 as a runaround.

According to the LR technical wizard in the mother country, the SC needs a new telematics control unit. It will take about a week to arrive from Blighty. Meanwhile I am in a diesel RRS loaner which is basic but actually a very nice car, economical too!
