I'm looking to buy a cover for my 2005 RRS and would appreciate any signposting and/or advice please. At present a car port, tent, or garage is not an option.

I'm in north Portugal so I'm looking for something that's capable of keeping out strong UV rays during long hot summers and torrential rain in the winter. We get some snow but not a lot.

I've had a look on flea-bay and other general e-shopping sites. The best I've seen so far is CarCovers.com based in the U.S. and they seem quite reasonable price wise. I've seen feedback on some covers about the cover itself causing minor scratches / wind lashes on the body work but bearing in mind my car is 13 years old that's not a deal-breaker. I see some come with gust straps too.

I put one on a car last winter. Was a decent one with nice material inside

But we had a windy winter. And its done a lot of damage to the car lacquer at each corner.
Scratch X has improved it but its still there.

These car covers can do a lot more damage than you are trying to prevent!
