Another Air Con,Issue!

Had my car regassed twice by a garage and by a dealer too. All state there is no leaks in the system but days / weeks after a regass, it stops blowing cold.
Both times they have told me they have added dye.

Any ideas, I can not keep forking out £150 for a regass to last a month!

Take it back to them and tell them it must have a leak as the gas is gone and make them find it if they have put a dye in it if the gas has gone then there will be evidence where it came out Thumbs Up

Both said no leaks and want another £150 to test it as they have to remove the gas and weigh it to see it's gone down or not

When asking my local garage to top up my P38 gas, during chit chat conversation I was told that if they top up a car with leak then they can be liable for a £10k+ fine (illegal harmful gas discharge). I'm not sure of this could be used as leverage, you pay for the leak test but if leaking then they refund and refill for free.... 13MY Range Rover Sport Autobiography SDV6 - mine

I am wondering if it is leaking though. I have ordered a UV touch to see if I can spot any dye. I guess the dealer will just the excuse "it wasn't leaking when filled it, this is a new fsult"

The condenser at the front is very common done 2 on mine but to leak test them the must use nitrogen as with a vacuum it can seal up a small hole so if they are not air-con specialist then find one Thumbs Up

Hi ya,

One is a main dealer, one only does car air con.
I would have thought any leak would show the dye somewhere?

That's my first port of call. Is it the cooler across the front at the bottom?

Also why dont you ask the air-con guy to just check for the dye as if he has put it in the least he could do is look for the dye Thumbs Up

I have emailed the dealer stating that's the original fault (that appeared after a service) has come back after about 4 weeks. They also stated they had put dye in.
It's weird as it started to play up with the drivers side vents blowing warm and passenger side freezing cold.
Wasn't sure if there was something else that could cause this fault

This is exactly like my fault, see under "RRS2 Air Con Failing" posted earlier today. My 1955 Morris Minor doesn't suffer from this problem Rolling Eyes RRS2 HSE Chile Red

Are you having any joy? I just wonder if there is another issue other than a leek.
