United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Zermatt Silver
Tom's OEM+ 06 RRS HSE 2.7tdv6 Project

Hi all I was on the look out for a 4x4 for a couple of months, I looked at a Ford Kuga (don't laugh the misses idea not mine.)
Was a good practical car, but not my style and very boring. We also considered a BMW X5, Audi Q7 and then finally a Range Rover sport. After looking at common faults and reliability issues, I was practically sold on getting an Audi Q7, it also seemed like the most sensible option. I'd almost completely dismissed the RRS, after reading about crank failure, suspension problems, electrical gremlins etc. Until......
A 2006 RRS 2.7tdv6 HSE in Zermatt silver came up for sale. 2 previous owners, 113k mileage, good service records, 22" stormer wheels and black leather interior.

The said car was at a dealer in the East of England, The car looked great, and drove equally as good.
It's no speed machine but smooth is not the word, It just glides along effortlessly.
With a service, wheel refurb and 2 years "warranty" (£500 limit per claim, which will at least take the sting out of the tail)
A deal was made Cool

A week later £555 lighter for tax, which btw is daylight robbery, and £722 for insurance I picked it up.

I've driven the car 250 miles so far and not stopped smiling since.

I have plenty of plans for the car, including some rigorous maintenance, which hopefully should provide me with some trouble free motoring.

I've ordered a few bits that's will arrive this week, I'll update accordingly. Tom

Welcome to the madhouse - nice looking RRS - the alloys are Overfinch they will have the logo on if genuine. Beware the L320 did not come with 22's as standard & fake alloys cause issues especially when they crack - check for welds from previous repairs on the inner alloy. What size tyre wall are fitted to the alloys?

Welcome again Thumbs Up 16MY Estoril Blue SVR.............

Hi Peachy, pretty sure it's a 35 profile, I wouldn't say the ride is particularly hard, having previously owned lowered bmw's and vw's.
Should they be stamped on the back of the spokes? Tom.

They should have the name stamped on one of the spokes - 35 may be ok - what's the load rating ?

One way to tell if they are genuine Overfinch is the Supersport rim had a 70mm diam. centre cap, if the cap is around 62mm diam. with possibly a L/R logo chances are they are copies.

Cheers
