United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Sumatra Black

Thanks Martin. Mine was 5 months old when I bought it and already came with a Twisted Performance 260bhp remap (inc filter and sports exhaust). However, it keeps getting wiped everytime they fix the ongoing raft of gearbox faults. The difference in performance and economy is quite dramatic, as Envoy correctly states, and I'm waiting for its' return to re-book and reinstate the remap. Very Happy

I'm reliably informed that a new RRS transmission software update is released every month. As now apparent, these ECU updates wipe the remap. Meaning, every time your car goes into the Stealer for a service or work necessitating similar software updates, you're going to lose your remap. Therefore, logically, the longest you can realistically expect to keep your car remapped for is 12 months or 15,000miles.

You're not wrong Envoy! Evil or Very Mad

Another problem is that, if your beloved RRS is in the garage for a few days or more, and you get used to driving another car, it's really very hard to detect if the remap is definitely still present or not. I bet there's owners out there driving about in cars they believe are remapped, but actually have been wiped. Like you, the significant difference in before/after like-for-like economy is the the only real key pointer, but it's certainly not straightforward.

However, I do clearly remember driving to the remap man without the remap, then driving away with it..., 2 completely different cars. God knows why LR dont turn them out like that in the first place (but I'm sure somebody will soon tell me.., EU emissions perhaps??). Confused

Brian,

Do you have to take your car back to Twisted everytime for the reflash?

Hi LRT. No, the engineer, Charlie is mobile nationally and happy to meet up in the Southeast whenever he's about. Great fella, very understanding and extremly helpful. Highly recommended!
