mine turns off when the ignition is turned off, which can be a pain sometimes. I like to add in a freezer block if it will be left parked for a few hours with 2 pints of milk in it for the kids. 2012 5.0 SC AB

Did they change the design so it stays on ??
I’m pretty sure the fridge I bought from the bay of fleas was from a MY10 , so maybe that’s why it doesn’t turn off with the ignition. But it does fit and works perfectly .

Devon

I understood that they changed it so that it turned off. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Definitely switches off with ignition in my 2012 sdv6. Been parked up 5 mins or so, ignition off, power is supplied briefly afterwards but as soon as my dashcam powered off I flipped the lid and although switch is on it is definately off, eg no fridge noise or green light.

Got back this evening expecting my sport to be on fire !!! But all was fine and the fridge was still running ?? On the plus side , the drinks are really really cold Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

In future I’ll just have to remember to switch it off !!!

If I remember correctly there are 2 fridge types.

The D3(and contemporary RRS) with blue light and D4 one, green light.

The D3 one has voltage sensing and will switch off.

The D4 one does not have the voltage sensing and will not switch off in a D3 or early RRS ( I think the sensing is part of the wiring in the D4) '08 RRS TDV8
I converted my diesel RRS to run on an environmentally friendly mixture of caribou fat and baby seals oil

Thanks all Bow down
Mine is definitely from a MY10 sport with green light , seems like it doesn’t have voltage sensing but hey ho !!!
I’m happy I have it instead of a big black hole , and it works brilliantly .
