2016 Range Rover Sport Autobiography HEV

Hi guys.

Been thinking recently about the HEV model. Been looking to trade my 2014 sdv6 HSE dynamic in for a May 2015 Autobiography Dynamic Hev.

Anybody on here have the HEV ? Just after some real feedback what there like, how good they are, if there reliable etc.

I am tempted as they have a tiny bit more power then the SDV8 and quite alot more mpg ! I only do mostly town work and country back roads so I'm sure it will fit my driving style.

Any reviews from people would be great thanks.

Tom.

Renaco and a couple of others run then and René rates his very highly. They are very rare so it might be difficult to find a used one. Have you considered going for a full PHEV? Your drivingbpattern seems very similar to mine and I have just taken delivery of my first non-LR in 26 years and it is a PHEV Mini Countryman. Hi Tim.

Good to hear good reviews. They seem a good motor. This is the vehicle I'm looking at :

http://www.stratstone.com/search/VehicleDe...e-RE15YDV/

As it's a autobiography dynamic i guess it has the ACE system and rear electronic locking diff which i love on my Hse dynamic.

Does the hev have this ? I'm not sure ? It had the dynamic setting on the terrain response so i guess it must have the ace.

Could anyone get a data sheet on this ?

Thanks.

Tom.

Locking Centre and rear eDiff and ACE are standard on all Dynamics in the UK - doesn’t matter if they are HSE or Autobiograpghyn( where Dynamic is part of the Autobiography standard spec). The HEV is not a plug in hybrid it has only somethingblike 1 mile range in EV mode - most users use it as a performance booster from what I have learned. As far as i’m Aware there are no tax advantages to running the HEV unlike the new RRS PHEV which has significant BIK advantages for company car drivers. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Thought that was the case with the dynamic package, was just making sure there was nothing different on the Autobiography HEV.

I managed to get a spec sheet on it but it says it has less active roll control but has adaptive dynamics ?? Not sure what that means but these spec sheets are sometimes wrong anyway !

Not sure how to upload the pdf spec sheet though ?

thanks

Tom.

Hi Thomas

Yes, that’s right, hybrids won’t get the active roll control, but still the dynamic response with all other functions for dynamics.
You will miss it if you are used to it, but not too much as the hybrid gets a bit stiffer Setup therefore.

As far as I know, LR dosent offer this for the hybrid as it dosent have enough room for the front system regarding a 3 inch longer gearbox.

The rest is all said from Tim already. Drive it for a test, sure you like it.

Hi Renaco.

Thanks for the reply. Ahh i see that makes sense, least i know that they all don't have it. Was thinking Hmmmm what to do for a while but really want a HEV so that makes me happy none of them have it. Good to hear they have stiffened up the suspension too.
Suppose with the extra power its a plus so not gonna complain.

What do you think of yours ? I'm looking forward to a test drive for certain.

Thanks.

Tom.

Hi guys.

Found this one today it is gorgeous with less miles but is around 2 years older then the one i posted in the above link ! It only has 22k on the clock.
It apparently was owned by Landrover Solihull by one of the main bosses ! Very tempted as its literally fully loaded.

Is there much difference though in the HEV sport systems in 2 years from September 13 - September 15 plate to any improvements etc ??

Just curious really. These two are the ones I'm stuck between!! But gotta act fast as I'm sure I'm not the only one looking for one !

Thanks.

Tom.

I am happy, 100k miles driven, all fine Sie far. But to get the sportiness for B roads, you need 22“ wheels, as the 21“s are adding to the slightly more body roll the indirect steering reactions, this isn’t perfect for v roads.

I am back on 21“s, but only as I am doing mostly autobahn, city roads and forests, where I need the extra softness of the higher sidewalls. 2012 RRS HSE SDV6, BOURNVILLE 12/12-10/14

I would check it carefully, there are no changes, but MY13 means mostly early testers / pre production, could be as good as the 15 MY, but only „could“. 2012 RRS HSE SDV6, BOURNVILLE 12/12-10/14

Hi Renaco.

Thanks for the reply. Good to hear your sport has been all good, that's good hope for me Very Happy . Yea this August 15 plate silver sport Hev I'm looking at has 22 alloys on it so that should help as you say.

Yea that's what I was thinking earlier the older 63 plate could be a ex test vehicle or something like it but as the tech is still all 2 years older it's best to make a pass and go for the later sport which is two years newer.

Can't wait to drive one.

Cheers.

Tom.

What SDV6 engine does the one I'm looking at have ? As it's a August 2015 I guess it's either the 292ps or the 306ps ? On the advert it does say it has 354ps so I assume the later sdv6 ?

When I spoke to the dealer Stratstone of Mayfair in London he said it is the updated version on the hybrid which pushes out 354ps instead of 340ps. So it must be the later sdv6 as I said earlier.

I guess these being hybrid do they have add blue ?

Anyway I put a deposit to hold her as I can't let this one go as it's too good loose.

Thsnks.

Tom.

Correct, all 306 hp sdv6 are ad-blue drinkers... Wink

Lets see how you like the ride.

If you dont want the engine cutting off at every roundabout, just select sport mode, or Dynamic mode. If you want a quick load of the battery, select EV mode for a few minutes on the highways, at a speed above 90 mph. Its a hidden trick to load quick the battery, if you want. 2012 RRS HSE SDV6, BOURNVILLE 12/12-10/14
