Water In Fuel Message

Hi all,

I got my car back from the delear on Wednesday. I have driven the car about 30 mile since and now the water in fuel message has come on?? What can I do??

Car is a 2014 TDV8.

Sorry, I can only talk about the V6. I had this message for years. Dealer said it was a sensor and not to bother about it.

You may wish to get it checked of course.

Seems coincidence that it's done it now days after service where I guess they changed the filter

Yes I did also have a filter fitted incorrectly during a service, drove to Mid Wales and back without realising it was leaking by which time it was poring out and lost most of the tank all over my drive and pavement.


Hopefully someone with more technical knowledge will be along in moment but I doubt that it actually has water in the fuel. Hopefully just the sensor or a bad connection.

Had this happen last year when it went in for a service, they said it came up during the service so they changed the sensor, I think it was £50 quid or so for the part. 2010 RRS, TDV8
bali Blue / colour coded
side steps / flappy paddles
black perforated leather
22" overfinch
heated everything, TV,fridge ...... now with gold calipers and mud flaps !( black mud flaps that is) !!
Many years ago,,,,, 1955 series 1 landie , sometimes wish I had kept it

Well I think they should change it free of charge as it was ok before it went in tor the service and has now failed after they changed the filter
