Im pretty sure TFC has front sensors with the winch, if memory serves me correctly it knocks 2 sensors out but not all. TJ101 are you someone else on LROI forum?

Pelyma - you're confusing PDC with ACC - the ACC (adaptive cruise control) uses a radar unit in the lower front grille opening of the RRS which is probably blocked by the winch fitment Sad

No I was responding to this "Whilst there, ask them to look at the active cruise/front park sensors, as both not working, only to be told, that since a front winch is fitted, they have to disable the cruise !!"

Not the ACC. The only experience I had of ACC is on Mercs where it works ok, but an E class doesn't usually have a winch. Wink

Laughing Fortunately none of them !!!

The G4 is now at the end of the second day with the local dealers, and no further forward re the winch/cruise story, with neither working Crying or Very sad Censored They tell me they have ordered a "sensor", Which one I do not know, but reading between the lines, one that was not fitted when built !!!

May try the question on the disco forum, and see if any G4 owners there had/have the same problem ?? 997 TT, RR TDV8 Vog SE 90 V8 Hybrid

Evening all,, a update for those interested !! If you want a Sport with Cruise and a winch, forget it !!!
Now been in contact with the main man at LR special vehicles, after the dealers have had the car all week, and got nowhere, could not even get the winch to work Evil or Very Mad

When the G4 RRS's were built, none of the cruise components were fitted, not even for standard cruise, With the HSE, which should have had the Active system, the main sensor is not to the l/hand side, but in the centre, where the winch sits,

Not a happy bunny !! off down B&Q for a nice broom handle Confused

So VA, Fancy a RRS G4 with nice cruise buttons !!! 997 TT, RR TDV8 Vog SE 90 V8 Hybrid

Did your dealer say it had it? If so they should honour the spec!

So TJ do you have the sensor box to the left at all? I was looking at a G4 RRS last week and the sensor box was definatly mounted at the front left, slightly higher than the winch. I reckon the numberplate would be the main thing confusing it, had you got all the bits it might have been worth a try getting the dealer to enable cruise and relocate the numberplate to see if it works.

As for your PDC, if you wrap the 2 inner sensors in self amalgamating tape, it should disable them (well, fools the system) and leave the outer two working if the dealer enables front PDC. At least this is what I've been told anyway, will find out soon when I put a winch on my D3!
