D3 vs RRS

Hello all,

I have a small and not very important question to ask...

I have a D3 2.7tdv6 but I also have a RRS 2.7tdv6.

I know that the shock absorbers on my RRS were pretty much dead, and so I have had them replaced (all 4).

I expected the ride to be very similar between the D3 and the RRS since they are based on the same platform.

I still find that the RRS has MUCH stiffer suspension than the D3.

Is this normal, or do you think that this is down to the fact my RRS has 20" rims, where-as the D3 has the standard 18" rims?

Any thoughts?

Nick

I think difference can be accounted for in the cars name............ Sport. It was also harder than the L322 FFRR 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

That does not surprise me, but I thought that the 2 vehicles are basically the same underneath. Where are the differences that cause the suspension to be stiffer on the RRS?

They basically the same but the suspension was differently tuned for the Sport to help it try to live up to it’s name.......... 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

interesting.

Yes it probably is wheel size.

I think the suspension arms are stronger on the RRS but whether that has in impact I don't know

wonder if bushes are the same?

The RRS bushes are different - certainly on the lower front arms at least. A popular mod over in Disco3.co.uk is to fit RRS lower front arms when changing them. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
