My dealer says my order is an MY19 order as it’s build is post September.

He’s confirmed the spec/factory options at the price agreed so I’m happy about that. However, he’s saying there are some standard options missing from the MY18 spec and I can’t see what.

Anyone managed to ascertain what standard options are now removed?

My spec has three packs: Drive Pro, Park Pro and Vision Assist which if I remove and replace with Driver Assist Pack + HUD + Pixel-Laser headlights makes an addition £1,435 with the only actual difference being the Steering Assist addition.

Currently weighing up that little conondrum....

The price increases I am seeing for HSE Dynamic SD3V6 are:

MY 18 £70885 base price

MY 19 £72800 base price, an increase of £1915

This is from the print out of a build I did in April and todays configurator price.

Yes, if you add in the increase/reworking of some packs and more than double the cost of full size spare you can get a much higher increase over MY18.

I am just looking for an HSE Dynamic with opening pano, contrast roof, privacy glass, upgraded audio and HUD, so my build goes up by £1915 as those extras don't appear to have changed. My dealer tells me the extra £1915 goes to the govenment in extra tax, as far as they can see there are no other changes to the base vehicle.

This is actually making a Velar HSE 3D look attaractive, adding a few extras, met paint, sliding pano contrast roof, HUD etc it comes out at £7k less than my RRS HSE Dynamic and the Velar HSE seems near to RRS AB spec on equipment.

I suspect LR have let the RRS prices rise to distance it from the slower selling Velar rather than heavily discount the Velar.

Starting to look at other options than JLR, we still may see a new Ford Mustang and Kuga for shopping sitting in my garage come September! 2018 MY19 HSE Dynamic, Santorini, Ebony/Ivory, Sliding pano, Adaptive cruise, Black wheels. Arrived 3rd September 2018

I agree with you here. i think the price rises make the Velar an attractive proposition and may well help to sell some more for them!

I was looking at the various MY16, 17, 18 and 19 links posted by Jonathan earlier and it's insane how the prices have gone up i the past few years!

These are now appreciating year on year like Rolex's Rolling with laughter

MY19 models will have built-in SIM cards so you get Live Traffic updates and online information automatically without having to put your own sim in.

I have this already on my Audi which is a great improvement on my previous Audi whereby I put my own sim in only to find it didn’t always work. Audi built-in sim works a dream.

Now I wonder if the JLR built-in sim will be the same... Rolling with laughter

The built in SIM is of no use to me, I live out in the wilds, there is no signal and more importantly no traffic. 2018 MY19 HSE Dynamic, Santorini, Ebony/Ivory, Sliding pano, Adaptive cruise, Black wheels. Arrived 3rd September 2018

Just heard that MY19 now has an option to affix a carrier pigeon landing platform to the drivers side door ... Thumbs Up

^^^^ no, usually seen scrounging chips off the tourists. We are going way off course here. To get back on track we have a 250 round trip to the dealers on Friday to see if the figures still work for a px, if not they are lending us a Velar for a few days, if we don't like that may wait to see what the F Pace SVR is like, its about £5k less than we were going to spend on a RRS. 2018 MY19 HSE Dynamic, Santorini, Ebony/Ivory, Sliding pano, Adaptive cruise, Black wheels. When you say built in, do you mean they've just put a SIM in the SIM slot ? Or have they covered the SIM slot over and forced you to use the provider of their choice?

Hmmm... good question. The Audi one is built-in so you can't remove it. I wouldn't imagine the my dealer would know this at the current stage as they are usually slow to react to tech changes.

One might assume that the JLR one will be the same.

It is totally crazy isn’t it! I can imagine there are a number of people that have been priced out since they bought a MY14 car... They haven’t even changed that much either!!

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

^ i’m One of them, prices have gone up way ahead of exchange rates, inflatation and most normal folks salaries - buying power has reduced not increased.
Regarding the latest RRS rises - this has always happened when LR has launched a new model - within 18 months the prices of the models above in the range have increased substantially, mostly because the new model has not sold well and they couldn’t damage residuals for people who bought the new car 18 months earlier so they hike prices further up the range to make the new model appear better value. As far as I recall only a two models have not caused this effect - Evoque and L320 RRS. Like the RRS in 2005 Evoque was such a huge sales success there was no need to have price adjustments, both cars ended up with waiting lists of in excess of 8 months at one stage - L320’s wait even stretched out to 12 months within weeks of launch..... RRS is suffering because of lack lustre sales of Velar, which it seems isn’t exactly flying off the forecourts. You stil don’t see many on the roads over a year since launch. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW
