Seven Sisters Weekend 16th-18th March, all welcome!

Hi everyone, apologies for invading your forum but I'm on a mission here and it would be cool to get some Sports along and into the rough stuff!

After a great weekend last year, the Shire Land Rover Club are running another weekend at Seven Sisters in Wales.

The format is going to be similar to last time (something for everyone) as it seemed to work really well.

- Green laning parties (there are hundreds of miles of great tracks and a lot of shiny-safe stuff that would be ideal for those not yet ready to give up the turtle-wax Wink )
- Informal punch challenge
- Maxi-trial if Mr Lovejoy isn't washing his hair
- General mucking about and doing your own thing in the 1600 acres of mud, rocks, water, trees, mud, rocks, mud...
- Camping at Dan-yr-ogof (with the option to stay over Sunday night if desired)

All are welcome - if you're not a Shire LRC member it is a mere £10 to join (just tick the box on the entry form) which gets you a year's membership and four really rather excellent newsletters Wink

For more info, Chip has set up a 7S mini-site www.7sisters.co.uk where you can download an entry form. Photos to tempt you will be there shortly, but for now you can see last year's at www.shirelrc.co.uk galleries.

You can contact the Shire LRC Events Officer, Joe Rose, on 07974 754666 or e-mail carlamrose@aol.com for a booking form or more information.

A detailed pack of directions etc. will be posted to people nearer the date.

Entry forms to:
Joe Rose
Muddy Bottom Cottage
Pages Lane
East Bouldre
Brockenhurst
Hants
SO42 7WG

Here's a few piccies:

Green Laning convoy (our lanes officer has sold his J**p and got a RR now so you don't have to look at the back of a yank tank while you drive)

Punch card challenge:

And just great off-roading in great scenery!

RRS were sadly lacking, which is a shame as there's no reason for them not to be there!

Got a link to the D3 forum? We have had one or two at club events but no regulars, another thing we'd like to change.

BTW if you can't make this one there will be another one later in the year (I can't remember the date but our events officer will know, the format will be the same unless we can find ways to make it even better!) oh and of course everyone's always welcome to join the Shire LRC and come to play days, green lanes, shows, socials, etc. - we're one of the biggest clubs in the country (not bad for a regional!) and are also the first club in the word (that we know of) to go "Carbon neutral" - two fingers up at the anti-4x4 bobble hats Laughing

Unfortunately I wouldn't be able to swing that weekend with Mrs VA as the previous weekend I'm doing a trip to Salisbury. If anything else comes up especially in the Hampshire area please drop me a line. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
2009 Alaska TDV8 - Gone and much missed.

They like it dirty Twisted Evil

This is the view west from the car park - pretty much as far as you can see, you can drive. That's about 1/10th the site if that. The car park is bigger than one of our regular play sites! There's streams, ponds, reed beds, gravel tracks (part of the site was used for the Welsh section of the WRC I believe), mud, rock runs, lanes, climbs... eeeh it's massive!
