How can I tell if my car is a My2016 car - built end Aug 15

Hi - is the obvious giveaway the hands-free tailgate option ? Have the dealer options list and there is an item listed "TLGTE/BLID-Powered Hands Free" ?

Is there anywhere I can find the improvements added to this MY16 car, if its indeed an MY16 car ?

Thanks
Prashan

You in theory should be able to get a definitive list by entering your VIN into TOPIx?

Some people have reported anomalies in the spec but in theory it should be pretty accurate.

Sharing my spec sheet - shows Incontrol Apps (LESS)

Hi Tim,

Sorry for the Newbie question - the attached spec sheets shows “Incontrol Apps Less” - I’m assuming this means I don’t have InControl ? Is this similar to BMW Connected which allows you to connect Smart phones to the car, unlock doors, etc ?

Thanks
Prashan

MY16 will be gesture tailgate, the other way to tell easily is by pushing the temp display dial to access heated/cooled seat controls....

LESS after an option does indeed mean it doesn't have that (at least in theory).

Judging by most people's experience of it (and the fact that you have to start paying a subscription for it after I think 3 years) I wouldn't worry too much about it.

You'll soon realise even though the RRS is a fantastic car most of the tech stuff is way behind the curve ...

If you don’t have it then you re not missing anything by most accounts although the latest versions seem to be a lot better than the original. Land Rover tries to be hi-tech but they also try to rush out hi-tech stuff long before developement is completed and then poor frustrated customers rubbish it as they end up being the test benchers. InCONTROL touch was JLR’s answervto Apple CarPlay (JLR were involved with developing CarPlay but for some reason decided late on to withdraw and developed ICTP......... with disasterous consequences for JLR). I sometimes think JLR has forgotten what it was taught by BMW under their ownership and is reverting to the Austin-Rover/BMC days.......... 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Thanks both - shame really. I hope they don’t go down the TSB route...I hear Tata Computer Systems are also making a move to focus on their service provision for their own internal group - that means out go IBM from JLR.....

Thanks - yes, definitely has the seat heaters on the control knob and spec sheet confirms gesture tail gate

To be fair, InControl was/is not JLR, they just licensed it from Bosch.
