Brake maintenance

Morning All,

i have just had my rear pads and discs replaced under warrenty for a second time, i queried what caused the ward and they confirmed that the calipers are good and the handbrake is not binding.

now call me a pessimist but something not right!

can someone explain what i will be looking for on the parking brake as i believe this to be the root cause since it didn't release once when leaving the motorway services ended up pulling in the hard shoulder with the back end kangarooing, fortunately this did not re-occur...

there is no squeal when applied or released......

thanks

doubt its the park brake, as they are only shoes in the drum.

rear calipers are prone to sticking on, (feel the rear wheels for heat after a journey)

I would put a new set of rear calipers on if you have just had new discs and don't want a repeat.

Start from £40 each off ebay.
