Strange vibration when idling

I’ve recently bought an RRS 2006 2.7 HSE where theres a strange vibration sound that seems to come from the nearside toward the rear when idling. This happens for around 20 seconds every 5 mins and starts with what sounds like a release of air pressure. I’m thinking that this could be a suspension prob, however there’s not warning lights and everything appears ok.

The suspension is set to normal but it happens during all settings.

I took a video below

Many thanks.

Sounds like a issue with air suspension compressor, might be a leak somewhere causing it to run that often, as that is the location of the compressor.

Cheers

Noise coming from compressor
above the small plastic tray on the video you took
Quite easy to access
Off road height put axle stands under
If working on it as suspension
Could lower 👍 No friends no favours

Thanks for the reply Bullnogger. Any idea what the actual problem is?

Thanks

It could be a number of things
You have got a leak on the system somewhere
Or compressor wouldn't keep running every few minutes
Personally I would remove the plastic cover and soap test
The compressor firstly pipes in from and around compressor
Mix a small amount of fairy liquid in some water
Put it into an old spray bottle any household bottle will do
Something like a cleaner bottle that you pull the trigger on
Spray all around and if you have a leak there you will see lots of tiny bubbles
Under the driver side front wheel arch is the front valve block
To your front air suspension it's behind plastic inner arch at the front of the wheel
Spray that as well
There are lots of places it can be leaking from
Need to sort out leak then sort out compressor
Or it will just keep running No friends no favours

Thanks a lot. That’s really insightful.

I’ll keep you posted on progress.

Cheers
