PMs

When I receive a PM I don't get that message telling me about it, even though this option is enabled in control panel here. Also, pop-ups are allowed for this site, and I'm using FireFox 2.0.

Anybody has an idea why or how to fix it.

Thanks

Sorry aam, moved this to this forum - a more suitable place Very Happy

In my experience the PM emailing is a bit hit and miss. Re firefox, I'm not sure - I'm an IE person, but there are plenty here who do use FF. Sit tight! Very Happy

Thanks shmoogle for moving it, wasn't sure that was the right place.

Btw, I'm referring to the popup message here not an email notification.

Thanks again.

It's definitely enabled in your profile, so it would appear to be a problem with your browser. They work for me in Firefox 2.0 and IE, it might be worth trying IE to see if it's a browser issue.

You haven't got a popup blocker such as Norton Internet Security (or similar) installed? Google toolbar?

Topic reply e-mails are much better than they were, but as shmoogle says they can be a bit odd sometimes. Martin

Thanks Martin,

You are right, I have Norton Internet Security installed. Do you or others know how to add this site to the "safe" list. Tried that once but couldn't figure it out.

Not personally, I don't use it. I presume it comes with a help function?

I did read the help section, also played w/ the software but not much luck. Just found the safe list for emails not sites.

Sledgehammer approach, so not recommended but if you actually disable NIS do you get the popups OK? At least if you do, then you know it's NIS blocking them and we can look further into how you can allow this site without compromising the rest of your machine.

Do you know what version of NIS it is? I'll try and dig up a user guide.

Thank you very much shmoogle, but it's not fair to burden you like that. It's really not a big deal, I just have to check PMs more frequently.

Have a cold one on me mate. Thanks again.
