United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 Autobiography Fuji White
2012 RRS Towing electrics

Hi, has anyone fitted 12s & 12n to a 2012 RRS, I purchased a "dedicated" kit with the 1 green 2 grey plug set up requiring the boot panel removal. On removing the boot panel i don't have the plugs, i have the black braket with a silver box mounted on it, The external loom comes in through the rubber grommet behind rear light but carries on into car, Behind the light i have the light connection itself, the parking sensor plug and a bit of loom which ends in the corner of the bumper (not quite long enough to get down below exhaust tip) Has anyone come across this set up and if so could you give me some pointers before the big hammer comes out !

yours frustratingly

I fitted the 13 pin electrics to my 2012 RRS about 2 years ago, and recollect that the connections were behind the bumper, and it was a bumper off job.

Thank you, Makes sense as there seemed to be a loose plug down in the bumper cavity, Oh well off with the bumper it is ! Bit annoying as the kit i got for a bargain claimed to be for a 2012 RRS obviously isn't !!!!

You may find it’s not for a 2012....typical of cheap kits. Personally I’d always go genuine Thumbs Up Visitor from fullfatrr.com

It is a genuine LR kit even the wiring into the 12n & 12s sockets is set in resin, What i have since discovered is there is three plugs behind bumper, i am hoping that the wiring from the sockets plugs directly into these, (2 plugs on 12n & 1 on 12s)

Have been quoted £215 plus vat by Towbar express to supply, fit & code a 13 pin if my belief is wrong,

Fingers crossed i'm right with my theory.

Took bumper off and three sockets with dummy plugs attached to bumper frame, The loom i had was the type that connects inside the boot as mentioned, discarded the "vehicle end of the loom and all three plugs plugged straight in, Relief !!!!! I paid £24 for an original Landrover loom and thought it was scrap, was on the verge of calling in the "professionals" to supply and fit a 13 pin plug & loom to the tune of £260, Glad i braved it and removed the bumper.
Cool Cool Cool
