hey it's me (airc909)

i couldnt access my account so had to make a new one

i think it rides better on the 45s especially if you hit a pot hole or something

but it does seem to have a little bit more body roll

Re: 275/40 20 v 275/45 20

Pics would be good if you have time. I'm thinking about 45s next time. I currently have Uniroyal Rainsport 3s with 40 profile and with all the potholes around these days I think that extra 5 would be a good move. What make did you go for?

Just read this post with interest, as I have a slightly different question.

I had General Grabbers 275/40 20 on the RRS 5.0 SC, and looked for a reasonable replacement for summer. Knowing we have a lot of wet weather also, I chose Uniroyal Rainsport 3 and went up 5 - 275/45 20.

Had them fitted yesterday, the ride is noticeably smoother, the extra 5 mutes most imperfections in the road I felt more on the 40. However, I put my foot down to overtake this morning going round a corner and an indicator came up telling me to stop the car with an arrow facing outward either side of a graphic of the car I believe.

I restarted and all was fine, but it was a bit unnerving and I am wondering is this due to the extra 5 on the sidewall?, does the computer have to adjust over time to this?.

Thanks.

And another thing and with specific reference to davidfo- whilst the Uniroyals seem very good for grip in both wet and dry, after a while I had some issues with a slight wander (like a tracking problem). I have had repeated attempts at re-tracking and getting my indie to check the suspension for problems, without finding anything wrong. They have suggested that it is down to the Uniroyals. They did find a bit of uneven wear on the fronts (even though the tracking was fine) and when they were swapped front to rear the wander did reduce but its still there. So keep and eye on the wear on the front and let us know if you experience anything similar. Robin

Toyo Proxies but only because i found a relatively cheap part worn set of 4 (for £120)

just wanted to try it out to be honest

seems to be a bit more road noise in the cabin than before but probably due to the tyres being quite worn (obviously not illegal)

i think eventually i will go for a brand new set, not sure on the make but apparently the falken's get good reviews

We had 45s fitted a couple of months ago and now that we have driven a few hundred miles the verdict is good (edited to add 'Falkens'):

Quieter, smoother and much better feed back through the steering wheel:

how do you figure?

I'm running 255/55R20s on mine, unless that size doesn't fit on the L320 model? --

England 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Sumatra Black

After suffering the stiff ride, crashing pot holes, and oh too easily kerbed wheels.
I have now followed the general recommendations from team RRS and fitted 45 profile tyres.
The 275/45 Kumho's immediately felt better. A softer ride, rode the potholes better and filled the arches better too.

I'm definitely going for 45s (at least) next time.

And a further thought about the problem I posted with my Uniroyals, I've increased the pressure in the tyres a bit (to the recommended pressure for 5 adults plus luggage) and the wander has all but gone Robin
