Still silence from my dealer - I suspect (hope) my order was a little after yours and they are still just working through.

What is the round/oval thing in the centre of the rear bumper at exhaust height? I thought it might be towing gear but i’m Not sure that the PHEV can tow...... 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

It’s a removable towing eye that must be fitted at the factory.
I’m sure it will be removed before I collect the car as there are also a few pieces of trim not fitted, including the piece where this eye is at the moment.

WLTP

Went to visit my car today at the dealers ahead of parting with my hard-earned.

The answer to the big question is that the car will be registered with a CO2 rating of 72 g/km

This will place it in the ULEV category (so I'm quite happy as I can use the ULEV lanes around Nottingham and avoid any congestion charges in cities)

However, the dealer has said that 72 g/km is the base measure only and that for company car tax purposes (BIK) the WLPT value is increased with any factory fit items so will be much higher - and this is only calculated at vehicle registration time.

I find this this astonishing, as company car drivers will not find out the taxable value of their vehicle until it is registered Shocked

Anyone else heard this?

btw - my car is a MY19 HSE Dynamic in Byron Blue and is GORGEOUS Very Happy

I read recently that one of the reasons for the changes in the Govt grant scheme is because business people have been taking the p*ss and using PHEV’s as a tax avoidance scheme, taking the grant and BIK benefits but not using their cars how they are meant to be used, but running then purely in highly inefficient petrol/ diesel mode and on expenses........... such a pity that the greed of a few has punished private buyers buying their own vehicles that don’t get used for work/business I’m sure it would have been possible to have bashed company car users abusing the system without hitting those of us who have to fund our own cars. It’s getting round to time when business users should be limited to pathetic little cars with tiny 2 cylinder or purely electric engines which might discourage a whole heap of unnecessary motorway use and more public transport use............ 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
