Towing and snow/ice terrain response

Earlier this week my wife borrowed my RRS to tow a Defender to the garage (why she didn't use her D4 is another question).

The owner of the Defender suggested she put the terrain response into ice/snow mode so that take-up and acceleration was more gradual and a bit softer than in 'normal' (possibly because he has seen her driving).

Sounds a reasonable idea to me, but what are your thoughts?
