Spare wheel - full size possible under boot tray?

I'm being lazy and I've got a boot buddy liner in my car so accessing the under boot tray area is not easy. My car was lacking a spare, space saver or otherwise when I bought it and conclusion was I should have had one given I have the jacking kit. Can you fit a full size (22" SVR) wheel under there or do I seek out a space saver? Cheers[/b]

Hi,
not sure about 22" and svr but dynamic and 21" its a yes

it was on the options list as ticked so had a look to confirm before we bought ours, one other we looked at said Full size spare but when we looked it was only a Space saver, dealer would not change it, it makes no difference to them but added value to me

Thumbs Up Corris HSE Dynamic 2016

Just one thing tyre size on the 22 inch will be the deciding factor, my 20 inch wheel with the Coopers I'm running won't fit. M16 SVD 4,4 HSE with a few extras, Sold R50 , Wife SQ5 , BMW R1200GSW.

Remember the SVR 22 wheels with the summer tyres are wider.

My 14 plate 494 had a 22 inch spare fitted.... you need the nylon strap winch though to be able to lift it out of the footwell which fits over the rear roof gutter... you can’t get your hands around the side of the tyre to grip it properly otherwise...

I vaguely recall that some 494’s can only take space savers due to the adblue tank fitment and i’ve Got a weird feeling that some of them the floor pan is different....

So i’d Check your floor pan before buying your spare wheel.... Very Happy

The 295 section SVR 22" doesn't fit under the boot floor, hence us not offering anything other than a space saver or a tyre repair kit.

Appreciate the heads up. I'm sure a space saver will do me fine. Cheers

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

Remember that there are 3 types of spare - full size, reduced section and space saver - I would say a space saver is the most useless as it speed limits you to 50mph and 50 miles use, a reduced section doesn’t have such a great reduction in use. 2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - a test car before Seeing if I could go to totally Petrol/Diesel free motoring

Sorry, it is a reduced section as an option.
Space save was meant as a generic phrase, not to say that's what you'll get.

Cheers Tim

So it seems even a simple question is not straight forward Laughing

What size do you have on?
Work out the overall diameter, can you get a narrower width but same diameter, standard size 21" full size as a spare?
At least that way you have a saleable item if the svr goes Confused

The 21" SVR wheel is the same size as the standard car. The 22" 10J isn't, hence being too wide to fit.
Difference in diameter is 14mm (1.79%)

Ah ha, so I'd get away with a 21" SVR wheel? Struggled to find a reduced section spare wheel for sale anywhere!
