Running board removal

One of my running boards on my L320 has seen better days so I’m going to replace the pair. Given that all of the mounting hardware is already there, is this just a case of removing the old board and putting the new one on?

Also how do the boards come off? I’m led to believe they slide off away from the car? Would I need to remove the lower moulding to remove?

Any help is much appreciated

There are 3 brackets per side & each board is secured to each bracket with 2 nylon locknuts. Remove the locknuts & the boards will slide off - they made need some persuading if they are old - rusty etc. The fitting is the reverse - again you may need to give them a little help if they don't line up straight away. If your just replacing the boards the trim & everything else stays attached to the Sport - good luck Thumbs Up 16MY Estoril Blue SVR.............

Yes it’s straight forward unbolt then pull/slide off and push on with replacements, mine were rotten through so ended up just knocking them off with a lump hammer and the rust just fell off. Give the bolts and guides a good wd40 spray before hand.
