Home gym.

Does anyone have a gym in their garage...or on a concrete floor elsewhere? What have you used to put on the floor? I`ve seen interlocking tiles....but not sure they`ll wear well. I`m contemplating some equestrian mats at the mo...

Something like these https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00E0M...&psc=1

Any other suggestions? Oh and the combined weight of the kit and weights is around 240kgs.

Geezer not included Laughing

 Steve.

I built a gym at the bottom of the garden and put standard wood effect laminated flooring down, works absolutely fine. I also got a couple of grey floor mats from Lidl for where I might be lying down or want to stop any slippage.

Artificial grass, but not one with a long pile as they wear badly. My nephews have laid a woven sort of artificial grass outside their pub/inn and at 5 years old it has hardly worn despite many hundreds of walkers on it every day. The artificial grass I have in my conservatory is medium pile from Carpet World and looks great and is warm and soft to walk on. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

If I put "grass" in my garage I reckon people would think I`ve lost the plot Laughing

Laminate is a good idea but ideally want something which will absorb any dropped weights...(I`ll have free weights too). Steve.

One of my elderly neighbours asked how often I had to cut the artificial grass not realising what it was ....... 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I use free weights too & I've not damaged the flooring as yet though the roof is a bit low and I've made a dent in that Laughing

Get a rubber mat and place it over the laminate where you are working out maybe?

Talking of height.....mine is close. Kit is 85 inches and my garage roof is 86....with a fluorescent light, right where it`s gonna sit. Probably need to move the light and may need to cut some plaster board out....just hope there`s not a joist in the way Laughing Steve.

I had one in my garage - if I remember it was a York & in its day very expensive. It took over 3 days to assemble & was placed on a mated floor. I used it less than a dozen times in a year Laughing Laughing

My gym is in the off topic forum, where it belongs... Whistle 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

I am a gym member but I`ve always preferred training at home. I only rejoined the gym cos I wanted to get back into swimming but I`m not fussed about that now! Steve.

I like to ride to the gym on my bike, look at the “scenery” while working out then ride home. At home I only have SWMBO to look at Rolling with laughter
