Oil levels

Just for reference;

I was told by the dealer on collection to watch the oil levels, and to pop back in at around 1000 miles for the engine oil to be topped up (apparently they all lose some oil in the first few thousand miles - so I was told)

Now 3000 miles old and oil is still just under MAX.....which is nice Smile

its due to the engine block being made of grafite and absorbs a small amount of oil kaine

Shocked

I was warned about this too but other than a routine change at 11000 miles in June 2006 (end of 1st year service) I don't recall ever putting any engine oil in to it, even though I have 5lt of the stuff sitting in the garage just in case!

I remember having this warning with mine too but although I did check the oil levels periodically, it never actually went down. It was still only just below MAX when they changed the oil at the first service... I assume it's a CYA measure by LR.

Just thought I'd add to the ubiquitous and unanimous "oil level not moving" comment after several thousand miles. Indeed, same with the water and other fluids. However, reliability not quite the same for transmission fault warning messages.., I now have my own bay at the dealership along with a personal courtesy car!!!! Crying or Very sad
