Reset engine management light on dash in RR Sport TDV8 2010

Hi I ran my car low of diesel the other day before I could get to the garage. All was fine until 30/50 miles later the engine light came on. I suspect it dragged some dirt up from the tank. Have tried one of these off-the-shelf system cleaning solutions from Hanfords and running it on some Shell V max diesel in hope to clear it through. It runs fine, no smoke, no "restricted performance " lights. Does anyone know a way I can clear the light or reset it without taking this to a dealer?[/b]

It can be reset using the Gap Diagnostic IID BT Tool if you have one, or some cheaper equivalent.
I’m sure there is another way but can’t remember, sequence of buttons or on BMWs shorting two pins on socket. John

Doing a hard reset may clear the light - the codes may remain in the system but the light should go off. (that is if the fault is fixed) 07MY RRS TDV6
