United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HST Java Black
Urgent wheel advice needed

Hello all,

I have an 07 TDV8 that had 22 inch rims. Driving along a country road in Kent yesterday and 2 of them shattered. I am stuck here and looking for wheels to buy. I am looking for a set of 20” wheels with tyres but having the large brembo brakes is there anything I need to be aware of? Can I buy any 20” rims or are there types that won’t fit?

put your remaining good large wheels on the front.

and 18" or 19" whatever on the rear.

e.g

put your current postcode into ebay and see what is available locally with tyres fitted already

and try and get home staying under 50mph

Just taken my summer wheels off yesterday and thinking of selling them, good condition with a couple of small marks to 2 wheels with pirelli tyres around 4 to 5mm ( just ordered a gauge to measure them )

Genuine LR 20" rims

Thinking of selling Selling as my summer and winter alloys are exactly same and fancy a change

Just seen your stranded in Kent so not much good Nanocom Evo

That's pretty Censored
If I were you i would only buy genuine LR 20" wheels and not LR "style" as you've experienced, the LR "style" ones can be prone to breaking.

As said before, 20" will fit no problem with the Brembos 2016 RRS SVR Estoril Blue

If we all point our RR's in the same direction and accelerate at the same time can we turn back time?

I would just be a bit careful about offsett. I don’t know that I’ve finally sorted it but as I understand it the offset for RRS is 53. However there appears to be different 53 offsets. Here’s a picture I recently took of the reverse of my 20 inch (I have Brembos). Sorry about the quality. My issue was with some 19 inchers I bought which don’t fit over Brembos even though they were 53 offset.

If it says IS53 be cautious. ET53 should be ok but best to fit them and check if you can before parting with any cash.

They look like these from the front.

PS: Of course if the wheels you buy are from an RRS with Brembos then your well on the way Robin

Why would after market 22`s be prone to crack? Surely they`re made to specific safety standards!! Steve.

They are unlikely to be specifically designed for the weight of an RRS, for a start. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Because we pay a premium when we buy a LR and can you imagine the press if genuine LR wheels failed!
Aftermarket wheel manufacturers don't care, especially if they are made in China as they are often unbranded and therefore less prone to bad press!
The wheels and tyres are probably the most important safety feature of these 3 tonne beasts, not worth risking it IMHO.
Others may disagree but with aftermarket wheels you don't really know what you are getting. 2016 RRS SVR Estoril Blue

Most aftermarket wheels cannot handle the weight of the RRS, many with all 4 copies fitted, even if with correct spec tyres, often can only handle maximum weight of 1.75 tons to 2.0 tons, somewhat light for a RRS, with the MK1s coming in at 3 Tons!
There are of course same type price range or more expensive quality wheels made, but copies of LR wheels don't meet the standard or quality of genuine LR Wheels. Non LR genuine wheels are also classified as a modification, meaning problems with insurance in event of incident, unless informed etc. Whistle John

I have seen some which give a weight rating per wheel. Steve.
