Replace key fob covers on the newer style fobs

If your key fob is shedding its skin then its very easy to change them. Buy new covers from LR for about £8 then follow Steve Norman's guide in this thread. Replace the battery too at same time.
You can also choose a matt or gloss version. Just ask the Parts guy in the dealership to show you the choice Thumbs Up

If I can do it then anyone can Thumbs Up

New Key Fob Cover fitting instructions

Thanks for the info Dr Rob i've just changed one of my cases today and followed the link to the guide, for others info I bought a genuine matt finish case from here - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Range-Rover-Ran...fresh=true

and followed these clear instructions from the Discovery forum -

"No cutting or gluing required.
Take apart like you would to change the battery.
The circuit board is held in place by two small plastic posts sticking up from the case. On the original fob these have had the top slightly melted to form a blob which holds the board in place. Carefully lever the board next to the blob and it'll pop off the post. Lever one then the other.
Should the post break off, as they are very thin, then just pull it out of the board once it's out of the case. This gives you two holes in the board to aligne to the new posts on the new case.
I never bother melting the posts again, as the two halves of the fob hold it in place, which just snap together".
