Age and Mileage and Issues

I thought it would be good to discover what sort of distances are covered by owners over time. This could also be matched with issues.

So to start:

SDV 8 22 months old 50,000 K's

Issues:

Front brake pulsing , seems this is a well know issue for Australian drivers where the big brakes don't get hot enough, my solution change pads to Redstuff.

HUD , has a noisy Fan , I have let it go as I don't use the HUD and pulling the dash out may lead to other issues.

Turbo fault, car kept going to limp mode, turbo replaced.

Poor OME mat design allows foot wear on drivers side. Replaced rubber mats with after market which cover the whole area. IMO OME mats are very poor value and are not fit for purpose. M16 SVD8 ,4.4 HSE with a few extras, Sold R50 , Wife SQ5 , BMW R1200GSW.

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

I have an SDv6 HSE Dynamic - 19000 miles at 31 months old - not a single issue apart from passenger side of the heated front screen failing and whole screen was replaced under warranty at 23 months old. I was planning to make this my keeper car as I am retiring soon but the issues with SDv6 crankshaft and LR’s and Warranty company total obstinacy to acknowledge that there is a chance of it snapping means I am just about forced into dumping a perfectly good car as I am not prepared to go through the fight that seems to be necessary to get a replacement engine at no cost to me if it all goes wrong - just a gamble I am not prepared to take. It also means the end of 25 years and 11 cars worth of loyalty to the LR brand. It is a brilliant car on and off-road but the maker’s back up just stinks.

I will still have my mechanically faultless 1996 Defender 90 but..........having said I wouldn’t be seen dead in a BMW I am about to sign away my hard earned on a BMW product as my daily driver. Yes, I would buy another Land Rover/ Range Rover but they need to go back to basics and sort out the issues before they launch any more over styled and over priced cars - LR are very good at what they do but they have lost the plot through shear greed. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW
