My RRS is causing some trouble..

2010 RRS 3.0 TDV6 HSE
44,000 Miles

Two problems:

Yesterday I went over a large pot hole - was quite a bang - and the fuel light came on. I'm sure it came on just as I hit the hole, fuel was low anyway so was unsure if it was related. I fuelled up £35 but the fuel light and yellow warning triangle stays on and reads empty.

Next, today I was driving it and it started to misfire, every 5-6 seconds a miss, you could set your watch by it, consistent every 5-6 seconds. It drove to my destination and it rested for 4hrs. Still has same consistent misfire when I went back to it and it has now started to cut out every couple of mins when driving. It starts again and runs with the misfire but at some point cuts out.. could be 10 seconds could be 2mins... I managed to get it home.

Any thoughts.. Are the two problems related?

Hi Mark, Welcome to the forum.

I don't have an answer for you I'm afraid, although other members will be along shortly to help.
Getting the codes read would be helpful and doing a visual inspection underneath car, just in case, fuel pump?
I personally wouldn't continue to drive it, unless taking it to a repair shop, generally goes into a home mode, but you don't want to cause more possible damage. Please keep us up to date. John
