Can't comment on that model which is very cheap around £500+ less than genuine.
One thing to watch very carefully is that none seem to be made as well as genuine, and don't hold the weight LR genuine do at 21stone plus. Most copies are up to 13-15 stone max, some sellers I wrote to had no idea, some made from Steel and alloy, others just alloy, so be careful of what you are buying and the fit of them of course. John

To be honest ive fiited aftermarket steps off ebay with no problems,,just make sure you get them with the plastic covers which they have,if not they are a pig tomark out & cut.It takes about 30 minutes a side to fit those & that's laid on the floor.Ive just ordered a set for my 2014 SC that I pic up tomorrow,,they were £174 its a big saving to what dealers ask for them.

Hi Murphy,,the ones you have linked have the plastic sill covers pre-cut which are easy to fit,,you can buy some without them & cut your own but its a nightmare marking them out & it takes 3 times aslong to fit.

Please if you could post about quality/finish etc once fitted so this can be passed onto others when asked in future.

I bought a set of steps from them guys quality finish is great look identical to genuine,
I weigh 16 stones and have not had any problems in the last 3 years.
Just make sure you put loads of copper grease on the bolts when fitting this will stop any rust setting in on bolts👍 Current 55 reg 2.7tdvs with Hst extras

I bought a set off eBay for around the £160 mark. Easy to fit and good enough for me

I purchased a set of side steps off eBay and I was very pleased with the quality. Fitting is a relatively easy DIY job just put the suspension to its highest setting and there is enough ground clearance to fit the steps without jacking up the car. I too put plenty of grease on the bolts and some corrosion protection on the brackets.

One piece of fitting advice, after fitting my brackets and the plastic sill covers the bracket step support legs did not fully align with the steps. So eventually I had to remove the plastic sill covers, loosen the bracket bolts and temporarily fit the steps on the brackets before retightening the brackets bolts. I then removed the steps, refitted the plastic trims and then permanently fitted the steps.

My advice would be to fit the brackets and bolts finger tight, temporarily fit the steps to the brackets to align the brackets. Then tighten the bracket bolts with the steps still attached to the brackets. Then remove the steps, fit the plastic trims and then refit the steps.

Hope this helps.

Steve Thumbs Up

Best of luck for Friday Andy.

One thing I wish I had done with mine was to protect the aluminium edge strip somehow. Obviously its the front edge of that strip gets a real battering whilst you are driving along and, on my steps, it has marked up quite badly. There may be no solution but if you know of anything (perhaps even just wax polish) that would help protect it, that would be worth investing a bit of time in. I guess ideally some sort of lacquer might be a solution but I'm out of my area of expertise here. Perhaps my steps were inferior and others come with a better finish - I don't know. But logic says that whatever you can do to protect that front edge would be a good move. Mine is already marked so that my only real solution now is to remove them and repaint the edge.

Ive got some Gtechiq C5 left over so I might just put some on the alloy part of them.
