Online Service History getting updated?

Hi Folks

I've now bought 2 used JLR vehicles with the online service history and neither had the previous services entered. I emailed their service departments to ask for it updating. This was 2 different dealerships so I'm wondering if this is a common thing, or even if many people even know or bother checking?

Maybe I've just been unlucky? 13MY Range Rover Sport Autobiography SDV6 - mine

Hi Dennis,

Mine had PDI and 1st service entered on the system by MacRae and Dick, however service undertaken since take over by Parks did not appear until I harassed them for 3 days. They tried to tell me that all I needed was and entry in ToPix but I queried this with LRCS and they informed that an entry should be made in both.

To be honest I don't believe that the young lass behind the service desk (Service Coordinator) even knew there was an on-line system as I had to give her the URL to get in!!! All sorted now, but I wonder how many other customers have data omitted or missing. Pentland are definitely calling!

The first 2 services had not been entered when I bought mine, but I harassed my dealer until they harassed the previous dealer to update Topix. Seems they aren't too fussed, but if you ever ask about service history they just dismiss it with "it's all online now sir" 2012 RRS SDV6

RallyXS,

Don't get ToPix and LR Service History confused they are separate data bases. Why, I am not sure. ToPix is far more comprehensive and contains information about your vehicle and all updates etc, but LR On-line Service records are more like the old paper book in electronic format.

This is the URL for ToPIX: https://topix.landrover.jlrext.com/topix/vehicle/lookupForm

This is the URL for Online Service History: https://osh.landrover.com/login

Quite different.

Yeah, "OSH" as they call it, that's what I meant. Well done for pointing that out. 2012 RRS SDV6

Thanks folks

So it seems to be another thing for folks to watch for if buying a used one.

JOCK55 It was my XF from M&D (just before takeover) that I had to email to have it updated, and as it's the same workshop as the LR's I ended up with the green LR stamp instead of Jaguar - at least they had the same address etc. but unfortunately the wrong date. Luckily my Sport has the paper book so I checked it was entered prior to leaving after the service at Parks.
And with having just bought the wife's Evoque from Guy Salmon Coventry, it only had the PDI and first service, but was promptly corrected when I emailed about it. At least everything was right this time, but I did mention I expected them to get mileage and dates correct...

It just seems that the dealerships appear to be completely incompetent on almost everything I've had dealings with them about. 13MY Range Rover Sport Autobiography SDV6 - mine

i am still trying to sort mine between dealer (a site sponsor) and JLR.
I wonder if change of Reg Nos. is the cause?
I don't suppose JLR thought any Whistle one would change their Reg No.... Whistle Current: MY15 RRS2 3.0 SDV6 Autobiography Dynamic, Aruba Gold, HUD, Meridian 1700w

Received this reply from JLR UK Customer Relations

"The service history done in the past can be merged if you have the evidence of the service history. This can be added by the franchised retailer or independent specialist that carried out the service. May i mention that we do not have this information here at the manufacturer as we do not hold vehicle information history".

I have spoken to my local franchised dealer who now do all the work on my car and they have promised to add it on. Current: MY15 RRS2 3.0 SDV6 Autobiography Dynamic, Aruba Gold, HUD, Meridian 1700w

So they introduce a paperless online service recording routine and they say it's the customers responsibility to prove that services have been carried out. Incredible. Merc C220 estate Sport AMG

Yes, it's particularly worrying considering the recent post on the approved warranty not paying out for the crankshaft failures, if the online service info hasn't been updated then JLR is certainly likely to back out of any goodwill repair. Infact any warranty would back out of other repairs if they could say the car hasn't been serviced correctly (with no proof available). 13MY Range Rover Sport Autobiography SDV6 - mine
