I meant cat 6 as - minimum tracker sorry chaps.

The factory tracker ‘isn’t good enough’ no, be sure to my knowledge it isn’t a thatcham approved tracker, thus isn’t recognised by the insurance regardless of it does the same job or not.

Been to see the car today, it was up on ramps having the steps fitted and was quite dirty but it looks.amazing and I can’t wait to have it Monday!

It’s the first MY18 car for Cardiff and likely South Wales. Coolest kid on the block.

Rox it’s definitely thatcham approved once you collect the car & the dealership sets up the incontrol secure system for you it then generates a certificate with your car details & registration on, this satisfied direct line eventually who I’m with, Nfu do not even ask about the tracker, if I wasn’t mid policy with direct line when I changed I would be with nfu.

Enjoy the new car when you get it.

Cool kid apart from the crap brake calipers!! 😂

..as mentioned several times i will get them painted lol.

Having them in 'crap' silver is still refreshing from seeing them in 'sheep red' with the brembo logos that look they they've been bought on ebay and stuck on afterwards!

Sorry Rox I don't think you understood what I meant. The calipers are 'crap' as they are no longer using the 6 pot calipers which look awesome alongside the big discs. Nothing to do with the colour, if you get them painted they will still be a more conventional caliper and smaller discs all round.

Land Rover saving money I guess but still bad for me too as I am getting a new SDV6 to replace my 2017 model

Are you sure that they are not 6 pot and not just a change in calipers to avoid the brembo fees; Probably TRW/ZF.

Discs are only 340mm now not 380mm as fitted with brembo s,it’s a joke really that lr have done this, especially if you have big alloys

well i've come home with a Range Rover this evening!

...But it isn't mine lol. Our car is sat there gleamed up but isn't ready to collect - according to our salesman, there is some sort of delay with software updates (or an issue in general with the software already on the car) so they are waiting on Landrover UK to send software updates of some sort to solve whatever issue there is.

I kicked up a bit of a fuss because i was told my car can come home wit me today and that i had sold my 4 series over the weekend to accommodate for this, so in the mean time they have given me a 2000mile 67 Plate RR Sport Autobiography to use until my car is ready for collection - can't complain with that too much really.

Living with this car while I'm waiting for mine is my first ever taste of Range Rover ownership. i have to be honest even with this MY17 car i am mighty, mighty impressed. What a majestic place to be - the gadgets i love (infotainment is a little slow but could live with it).

and i never thought i'd say this... but how good does the SDV6 sound???? What a brilliant engine. i can't understand why you'd need a 4.4TDV8.

So yeh.. my car was sat there staring at me wondering when i was going to take it home and i couldn't tell it when lol. The wait continues..

Shame you can't take the new one home mate but as you say the MY17 is a great car that's what I currently have. Driving that for a wee bit will also make you appreciate the MY18 upgrades even more.

Did they give you any timescale?

My new car is due at the dealers tomorrow so I hope I don't get caught with another software based problem, had enough of that last year! 😂

Ok so pics to liven this thread up a little.

This is our car, It arrived at the dealers last Thursday, These pics are from Friday. Unfortunetly the car was stinking as it looks like it was straight off the wagon, and it was up in the air on the ramps as it was having the sidesteps fitted - so these are probably the most unflattering picture's il ever take of the car, but never the less it was lovely to see it in person! it looks phenomenal.

I haven't been told a day when my car will be ready as they didn't know them selves, due to the wait from Land Rover. I cant see it being later than Thursday/Friday if I'm honest!

in the mean time, they've given me this:

As previous I must admit what a cracking car, and as Chunk mentioned it will make me appreciate the transition to the MY18 car even more. This has deployable steps which on a MY17 demonstrator I felt they was a bit flimsy when stood on, so I went for fixed steps. But unlocking the car and seeing them whizz out does make me sort of kind of question my decision! Nevermind.

It might be to do with a recall for software update for the tft cluster display .apparently they have been going blank in some cars (I.e - no Speedo etc)

My missus tells me we got a letter to the same effect yesterday.

United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 Autobiography Fuji White

I like the wheels & the bumpers,,even though their isn't much difference in looks to the svr outside,,these bumpers especially the rear should have been fitted to the RRS2 from day 1.

The pics look so much nicer when you see the new rear end vs the old (and the front look awesome too!)

Chuffed to bits that I've got an MY18 coming
