Car's been in the garage for a while undergoing some extensive road testing. They can't find an issue, and the idle noise isn't of any worry. Not misfired on them once. Guess I'll be getting the car back and crossing my fingers some more! Aside from replacing the guides and timing chain they can't suggest anything else. As there's no sign of anything wrong with those parts, I'm not going to replace anything for now.
