Petrol engine additives

Hi All,

Fairly new to the RRS game and wanted some advice on any cleaning/additives on a 4.4 petrol. Does anyone use anything regularly/as a one off? The car we've bought has done very low mileage with quite a lot of standing. I've had the throttle body replaced (by the dealer) when we bought it and he recommended.

Thanks very much,

Chris

Petrol Engine Additives

I use the following products in my 2005 Honda Civic Vi Hatch
1) Liqui Moly Engine Detox - Every Oil Change
2) Liqui Moly Petrol Injector Cleaner - Every Tankfull of Fuel

I have owned the car from new and apart from regular oil changes the only items ever replaced in the 12 years of ownership are:
1) Battery at year 11
2) Front brake pads this year

I do an oil and filter change every 6 months. I use Mobil 1 oil. The Liqui Moly Engine Detox is added to a warm engine just before the oil change. You let it idle for 10 minutes with the product added.
I have done an oil change with and without the Liqui Moly Engine Detox, without, the oil that drains is fairly clean, with, it comes out very black.
I do my own servicing and the inside of the engine is spotless even in the combustion chambers.
The car only does short trips and low km's so it is a prime conditate for sludge build up in the engine and blocked injectors. The idle is very smooth and it drives like new and engine compression is excellent.

I must be doing something right.
