Range Rover sport 2010 suspension

Hi guys
So I have a Range Rover sport 2010. I had an issue were it kept going into extended mode when lowered into access mode. I have taken apart the valve blocks and cleaned them out. When the car is in standard mode the measurements from centre of wheel are around 470mm. When the car is in access mode the drivers side is 427-430mm and the passenger side is 415 rear and 400front. I have put a new struts on the passenger side and have cured the issues that it had. I just don't understand why the passenger side is leaning still. No faults are showing in the computer.

Come someone help or explain. I'm getting a little tired of just throwing money at this car.

Many thanks

Hi,
sounds like the car is thinking it is grounding out and so reverts to extended mode to clear the "obstacle"
mine did it once when parked on rough ground, (moved forward and all good)

May be worth re-setting/checking the heights with some thing like an IID, although would have expect it to be "out" by the same amount when in standard height Question

Thumbs Up

I had all the height sensors calibrated by Land Rover and they said they were all functioning as it should. I cured the problem of extended mode by either changing the 2 shocks or cleaning out the cross over valves. I just don't get why it's is so different in access mode

The calibration wasn't done correctly, it seems, or you need a new sensor. The vehicle goes in to extended mode when you select access height because it gets to the bottom of the available suspension travel before the system thinks it should. This registers as it grounding out on something. In order to protect the vehicle it then raises the car to allow you drive away from the "obstacle".

Mine RRS does this sometimes when parked with the nose down and leaning to the driver's side. The sensor shows a red line on the 4x4 info screen and it starts to raise. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Thanks for the replies. I took it to Land Rover as my local specialist couldn't calibrate it. When it's in standard height it seems to be fairly level. I only get this problem when it's in access mode. The suspension doesn't go into extended mode anymore anymore as I'm think I have cured that by changing the passenger side shocks or cleaning out the valves. I was advised by Land Rover to do checks for leaks and other bits as they said that there was no known faults registered however did notice that the front left was down and said it could be a shock or the front valve block. He said to change the pipes over on the valve block and see if the driver side sits lower. So that I did and it stayed on the left so I changed the shock. I'm still having the issues and according to the Land Rover guy all of the ride height sensors are reading perfect. I must say that I have changed the height sensor on the passenger rear so this issue is clearly on the front passenger side. The only thing that is left really is the ride height sensor. I've run out of other things to replace. I have just ordered front and rear valve blocs so that I can rule them out for sure as the suspension seems to be working better after I cleaned them out
