Gibraltar 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

Hi . I remapped my 2.7 TDV6 with Quantum Tuning. It cost me 350 euros in Spain. I had it done about 5 months ago and am really happy i did it. It took the technician about 30 minutes to complete and it now feels like a completely new car to drive.

TDV8 Engine Remap

Based upon feedback on the forum there are a lot of people who are happy with remapping their TDV8 engines to get extra power and torque - no debate. My comments from now mainly relate to hot climate experience - not directly relevant to your case but I think people should be aware.
I have a 2010 TDV8 and the performance is very good on a cool day. Get above 30C and you start to see a significant reduction in performance. 40C and above its a different car, the performance drops hugely - where has all that power gone - nothing that a big V8 won't fix.
I have tried european spec performance chip upgrades on petrol cars here - they work fine on a cool day but get a hot day and cars without knock sensors rattle their little head off with pre-ignition and the ones with knock sensing just don't perform.

Chip tuning may produce results under certain conditions, but there is no quantifying information on how close they take the car to its mechanical design limits and the consequences thereof. People selling upgrades won't tell you because its not in their interest (and they probably don't know) and most likely the majority of owners don't keep their vehicles long enough to see the consequences or get rid of them because of problems caused by the upgrades.

A larger intercooler will really help with the hot temperature power gains/performance.

But I'm a little confused, have you had your tdv8 remapped or just referring to petrol vehicles you've had mapped? Bodsys Brake Bible
