2014 SDV6 strange noise

Does anyone else's car seem to make strange noises when the fuel is about 1/3 tank ?

Normally the car is fine but when the fuel is getting low you sometimes here a noise like a drive shaft, anti roll bar is knocking but when you have a full tank of full there is no noise at all.

Is it just a strange quirk RRS in chilli red 2014 HSE with a few options, also general grabber AT3 tyres as it does go off road and gets dirty

Is this when braking, and at relatively slow speeds?

A "clunk" or sharp thud?

If so, it is likely tank slap. MY2016 HSE D SDV6 - gone due to fuel dilution problems.

Probably fuel slopping round in the tank. Problem on early models, surprised your's not fixed by now. SDV8 arrived and fantastic even the infotainment!
1983 2 door Range Rover ARB Bar X9000 winch ARB Rear Bar now semi retired.
Many big trips done in this one.
1982 Rangerover nearly restored.
22 Defender D250 with lots of stuff for outback touring
Nice 2013 Freelander TD4 manual (for daughter to learn on) with much better stereo compared with previous SD4 SE with Meridian which sounded bad!
2013 Land Rover Defender ute.

My MY15.5(?) was first registered in late April 2015 and I have noticed the sound of fuel slopping around when the tank is anything less than 2/3rds full. It has been serviced at a Main Dealer since I bought it last year. Should I assume that what I hear is deemed acceptable by JLR?

cheers for the info guys

this morning at 1 point it sounded almost like a wheel bearing had gone or something dragging on the ground.

Filled it up with about £70 of diesel and no noise at all

Sent an email to the guy I deal with at the garage, to see about the recall but he is off on holiday to the 22nd RRS in chilli red 2014 HSE with a few options, also general grabber AT3 tyres as it does go off road and gets dirty

Well another day

the gearbox / drivetrain is making noises and clunks like metal on metal.

phoned landrover assist at 4pm who were meant to turn up at 5.30pm, but no show phoned at 6.30pm said it would be 9pm after a computer glitch. But instead they sent a local mechanic at 8pm who did not really know but heard the noises and said get it back to the dealers.

Currently its 21.25 and no phonecall back off landrover.

I will contact them in the morning and tell them to collect and leave me a car RRS in chilli red 2014 HSE with a few options, also general grabber AT3 tyres as it does go off road and gets dirty

Isn't the LR assist just the AA though, always them when you call them out normally? John

Always has been for me, and for Jaguar.

The AA guys that do the JLR assist program tend to be ex JLR technicians though. MY2016 HSE D SDV6 - gone due to fuel dilution problems.

Ive had the AA out and proper JLR technician in silver vans in the past.

On to todays saga

No call off landrover last night, so I went to work this morning at half 5

Call landrover at 7.30 and arranged another technician for tonight between 17.30pm and 19.30

At 17.30 I got a call saying that due to the mess up that they would collect the car and take it to the dealer instead of the technician coming out.

18.15 another call off landrover to see what was happening, said they would call back and let me now when the car would be collected.

18.30 the local recovery turned up to collect the car, said it had been booked for recovery at 5.30 am this morning, then cancelled in the afternoon and then rebooked.

Still waiting for details of my loan car.

You could not make this up RRS in chilli red 2014 HSE with a few options, also general grabber AT3 tyres as it does go off road and gets dirty

Very disappointing service if this is from/through your local LR dealer, I wouldn't be very impressed with them up to now. Big Cry
I presume down to dealer for loan car, or are you using the LR assist loan car scheme?

There is a car from LR assist at the garage I use for me and hopefully should be delivered tomorrow morning, that's what I asked for

Not heard back from LR assist tonight after my car was collected

This has all been from landrover assist so far, BUT I have previous with my garage firstly with an brand new evoque that went back for paint twice and new trim all round and lasted me 3 months before I got shot of it, then with a discovery sport that had 2 new DPF and a new turbo all within about 4500 miles from new.

I hoped it would be 3rd time lucky with the RRS but time will tell lol RRS in chilli red 2014 HSE with a few options, also general grabber AT3 tyres as it does go off road and gets dirty
