Maybe because it's too far away from you to be able to see what they're up to?

I know it's no help to you, but it reminds me of my first new car (a Ford) which I bought in 1970 after several months waiting list. Not only was there over-spray, but parts of the car weren't painted at all, and there wasn't even undercoat on the underside of the bonnet! There was also the minor issue that it was the wrong colour! All the dealership came up with in response was "this is one of the better ones, you should see some of the others"! Sadly, I was less worldly-wise in those days and didn't have the knowledge (or probably the consumer rights at that time) to deal with it adequately. In your case, if you aren't going to be happy with it regardless, reject it. If, on balance, you still want it, insist on some financial recompense, if necessary 'in kind' (free service pack, etc.) which gives you financial benefit at less cost to them.

I hope they have but will not agree to any repair until I am fully made aware of the reasons for the damage....

Is JLR passing the buck?

Just think; if a dealer repairs the car any future issues will, contractually, be between you and this dealer.

You don't need the hassle - reject it !

Still not entirely sure why it has to be shipped to Scotland even if they say there are SVR bodyshop specialists at this dealer. I live in Ryton, less than half a mile from SVO. Many of my neighbours work at SVO and they are all hand picked specialists from across the company, including paint sprayers and body techs.

Puzzling.

This has been eating at me for over two weeks now since it went back to the dealership !!

And i have tried to keep my cool with JLR but just keep getting the 'Run Around'

I knew you guys would have some good advice, and I thank you

Have an early morning flight and need some rack time so will say thanks and will keep you posted.

I will be in touch with JLR and Taggarts all day tomorrow.

So will give you all an update tomorrow evening.

It's my understanding that you can legally reject a car in the first 30 days if it is not of saleable quality or is not as described, your car being damaged and not disclosed to you means it is not as described therefore you are entitled to reject and ask for a refund in full or replacement vehicle after 30 days the dealer has one opportunity to rectify, if you are still not happy with repair then you can still reject and demand refund but a deduction for use can be made .
I've got a meeting about my SVR on Friday so I will let you know how I get on as well.

It is a complete mystery to me too. It was a decision made by JLR to send vehicle to Taggarts. I wasn't even consulted !!!

Forget to mention, I bought the car through Rockar Landrover, Stratfield London. Cannot fault them, they have been very supportive. RRS SVR 2018

Good advice, I will be seeing her today and find out my options. I have also been advised that I will be called by the GM of Taggarts and the JLR specialist at some point today to report their findings and propose a solution.... RRS SVR 2018
