Loom squashed boot seal

Hi , has anyone noticed that the loom in the rubber flexing tube at the top of your tailgate doesn't sit quite right and over laps the boot seal , squashing it .
I looped a length of cotton around it and threaded it between the tailgate and roof so I could pull it out of harms way while the tailgate is closing.
Hopefully it will reset itself out of harms way after a few days sitting in the correct place.

Yes!!!!....further to my thread below, that was one of many faults...careful, that's two occurances so now it's a characteristic of the car!.

On that particular 3 days at the dealership they replaced the rubber wiring shroud and boot seal...on that occasion the loan car was disco sport, yuck Mr. Green

I would rather try and fix it myself than let someone ruin my head lining with their dirty hands . We do insist on a Range Rover sport as a loan car as that's what I bought and want to drive, last service I had an svr for the day .
Sorry to hear your story. Same old story, once they have your cash they lose interest and move onto the next sale.

I'm pretty sure they fixed it without touching the roof lining....it was a disco sport or the bus (the bus would have had a higher quality interior)

One of the two rubber conduits on my MY15 suffered the same issue, but they sorted it out FOC during a service. Not sure if they had to take the roof lining out.

I had the same issue and was fixed, what they do is to pull excess length with a wiring strap and fix it to the body side of the black plastic, and then install a new seal.
