Which exhaust tips?

Hey guys,

Having a new exhaust fitted on Monday and I need to decide on the exhaust tips. Do I go for the overfinch/porsche style or supercharged style?

I had the porsche figure8 tips on my cayenne and it looked great but the supercharged ones look OEM and I think they might look a bit better.

What do you think? Aargh decisions decisions!!

Overfinch style:

Supercharged style:

Definately go for a set from JE Engineering with full cats fitted too.

They simply look the best and the sound is awsome.

Below is a pic of my supercharged sport with std fit system - then JE exhaust below.

I agree the JE exhausts look great Very Happy . I agree they sound great Very Happy . But for the TDV6, the JE exhausts do NOT have catalysts included...that's only available on the S/C. SC no doubt!

only judged on 'style' since I don't know (yet) the difference from a sound
prospective. the overfinch tips look a bit too 'wannabecayenne'....

cheers

Iwan - if you want to hear the sound of a JE tuned S/C - go to this thread on the forum:

http://www.rrsport.co.uk/forum/topic4615.html?highlight=je

And click on the youtube link in my post at the bottom. It is a very nice sound Very Happy except for the irritating music. The JE exhaust on my TDV6 sounds nice...but not this nice!

I agree, the OF style exhaust tips are too "wannabecayenne" 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE, Java/Ebony/Cherry, Privacy, Sunroof, PTI, Premium Sound, SatNav, Cold Climate, Tow kit, CarStyle coded grill and vents, Tasmods, Stormers, JE Exhaust, Autobiography badge

The standard SC tips do need beefing up a bit, considering the type of car. MDP's JE exhausts look great and the Overfinch ones look good to I reckon.

Well, Iwan, I don't really think it makes much difference on a soon-to-be-obsolete old oil-burner! Doubt people will see them for the smoke! Laughing

Far from it Exclamation Exclamation Exclamation

The JE exhaust upgrade for the TDV6 will make it sound like a V8 petrol and fool plenty of V8 owners. Looks fantastic just like MDP's. Much better looking than the OEM type and SS to boot. Idea

Add a little tuning from JE Engineering and you'll be one happy man Thumbs Up Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Plus you can get a discount from the forum. TDV6 - gone

I have a TDV8 on order and contemplating upgrading the pipes.

I see that Overfinch and JE offer tails / tips and have fired a mail to Milltek for any products..

Are these tails / tips purely cosmetic or would they improve the V8 soundtrack?

Advice welcome Very Happy

The soundtrack is good on my Supercharged - even better when mated to JE's complete system [ i'm awaiting delivery of their cats ]

As for tips [ rear boxes ] for the other models - many people on here have fitted the versions from JE available for the tdv6 + they all report the sound is more like a V8 than V6 ............. why not liase with JE Engineering direct to discuss your options for the TDV8 Confused

Tee Hee Rolling Eyes How far do you go on one wind, Josh? As far as scrounging cut price leather door cappings, maybe? Laughing The object of all JE exhaust systems is improved performance, the cosmetics being very much secondary for those who are impressed by that sort of stuff. The TDV6 system most certainly does NOT sound like a V8 of any sort, nor is it meant to.
