LR Service recalls...

The sport went in recently for bodyshop attention under warranty - that dealer has called me today informing me recalls A034 & 36 are outstanding and I need to call local dealer to arrange. Apparently they relate to Software upgrades for fuel gauge accuracy, diagnostics, smoother engine running, improved auto change and others that I didn't note.

Does anyone know the history to these are they old recalls I haven't received or relatively new, what was 35 and what number are we at now? ...

Any input appreciated... I'll google next to see whats out there...

I think A034 & 36 are the vehicle enhancement programme.

This is the "short" list of services and enhancements performed with those two action bulletins (they are not quite recalls) in North America. Basically, B034 is air suspensions related, B036 is everything else... The list may be slightly different in the UK - for instance, any diesel-specific enhancements are not included in North America, since we ain't got any Wink - but this should give you an idea of how fairly extensive this campaign is/was. Also note that parts of the bulletin applies to LR3s (Disco3) only.

Quote:
AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:
Land Rover LR3 (LA) VIN: 5A000259 to 6A390949
Range Rover Sport (LS) VIN: 6A900129 to 6A956539

Situation: Land Rover is conducting a vehicle enhancement program on LR3 and Range Rover Sport vehicles. At elevated temperatures the spring return force on the air suspension compressor exhaust valve is insufficient to overcome the friction forces, which can lead to the exhaust valve not closing properly. This results in a leak path in the air suspension system and result in an 'Air Suspension fault' message. LR3 and Range Rover Sport vehicles will also have an air suspension warning lamp illuminated. Other vehicle and software enhancements will be performed as part of this combined Service Action.

Action: The Service action covers the following areas:
• Upgrade the air suspension compressor:
• Performing a number of software and body fitting enhancements to the affected vehicles.

The updates are detailed below along with the relevant vehicle information.

Vehicle Enhancement Actions Model VIN Range

Electronic Air Suspension Compressor Upgrade (includes upgrade ride level control module software)
LR3 5A000259 to 6A374589
Range Rover Sport 6A900109 to 6A937698

Upgrade Engine Control Module Software
LR3 5A000259 to 6A390949
Range Rover Sport 6A900109 to 6A956539

Upgrade Transfer Case Control Module Software
LR3 5A000259 to 6A390949
Range Rover Sport 6A900109 to 6A956539

Upgrade Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning Control Module Software
LR3 5A000259 to 6A390949
Range Rover Sport 6A900109 to 6A956539

Upgrade Instrument Pack Control Module Software
LR3 5A000259 to 6A390949
Range Rover Sport 6A900109 to 6A956539

Environmental Box (E-Box) Sealing Grommet Check
LR3 5A000259 to 6A374589

Upper Tailgate Support Fixing torque, rattle repair
LR3 5A000259 to 6A374836

Had the work done yesterday and it was also due a service - got a call mid morning 'break pads won't make next service' (but are good for around 6000 miles still) did I want them doing - declined as I'd rather get the wear out of these but quote was for £335, is that reasonable ?!??!

Pads all 'round apparently... 18K on the clock...

Confused Confused Confused

I had to have new pads all round at my first service... £335 is about right I think, I seem to remember it added around £300 to the bill, the dirty, money grabbing bastids.

I forget how the cost broke down - I think it was only 1hrs labour (@£100/hr) so the parts were probably more expensive. I'm sure it could've been done cheaper...
