Engine Problem TDV8

Having a nightmare!!! Broke down this weekend, lost all power as i was overtaking a car and managed to pull over in a lay-by, did the usual reset and restarted the engine but it would only tick over and lumpy!!! Didn't notice much in the way of any exhaust fumes or any abnormal noises from the engine, popped the hood and a large oil leak from behind the front bumper/below air filter box. Needless to say i had the vehicle recovered to my local garage (not a dealer)
Anybody else had these symptoms?? give me a heads up as to the problem?? He's going to take a look at it later but i'm expecting the worst!! Car was running sweet as until it happened.

UPDATE!! Well it was a blown turbo!! Thanks to MMP for the info and photo's. Unfortunately i just couldn't find any transport to get the car to you Mikey so eventually found a guy heart Lyon who has turned out to be a Jem. He's cleaned up the mess and changed both Turbo's with new generation model (stronger). Changed a few other parts as well (blocked fuel cooler). Hopefully get it back this weekend!!! 5k lighter
All i need to do now is find a new front shocker air bag/strut for a reasonable price and we're good

Sorry to hear that. There have been a couple of reports of oil dripping from the airbox after engine stopping and seems to be associated with failure of the turbos. The oil seals had blown allowing oil to flood into the intake side. Probably a wise move not to try starting the engine until further investigation . There is a risk of hydraulic lock and massive engine damage. Check the engine oil level - it may be very low if the above has happened.

Good luck - Let us all know the outcome? 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE
